CTE Position and Role
Dr. Jamie L. Thompson is Associate Director of Educational Development at the Center for Teaching Excellence. She supports faculty and graduate student teaching through instructional design, curriculum development, evidence-based teaching practices, digital accessibility, and the effective integration of generative AI and other educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning.

Relevant Academic and Professional Experience
Dr. Thompson earned an Ed.D. in Instructional Systems Design and Technology from Sam Houston State University. She also holds a Master of Education in Instructional Systems Design and Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. With more than 25 years of experience in K–12 and higher education, her professional background includes classroom teaching, instructional design, curriculum development, educational technology, and faculty development. Her work emphasizes building communities of practice that foster collaboration and continuous improvement while equipping faculty and graduate students with practical, evidence-based strategies and technologies to enhance teaching, learning, and student success.
